The
whole of Kerala is witnessing protests for a common cause that it has never
seen before. The Mullaperiyar issue is gaining momentum with every passing day.
The arrogant stand of the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu is not acceptable. The
state and lakhs of people have been living in fear following the rise of
water-level in the dam and the continuous tremors that hit the area last week. People
are urging the central and state governments to take special interest to
resolve the dam issue through the various kinds of protests.
Oh ruling kings, it’s your precious votes that you lose if you are not acting in concern to the issue really soon. So save our lives at least for the sake of gaining a few votes in the upcoming elections. There is no king without subjects. So it’s the duty of the ruling kings to protect the lives of their subjects.
So, please save the people by taking urgent measures to reconstruct the dam at least for your personal gain of being on the ruling chairs again. I pledge that I won’t vote once again for this incapable and inefficient government who can’t rise to the situation and act accordingly realizing the importance of the situation.
We
live in a country which had lost its moral moorings. The devil is rapidly
climbing the rungs. The people’s growing avarice for cash had made politicians obtain
votes with the aid of money. Inevitably, if the person belongs to a family
where the finance had started dwindling and if he is in the brim of the
suicide, he’ll easily fall as a prey to those money giants. The money that they
invest returns to them when they succeed in the elections. They’ll grab all
that their hands could take from the government treasury. The money which
people had paid as the taxes will reach the hands of these people as a source
of income to lead a luxurious life style.
Ultimately,
the sufferers of this money fight hang themselves on to the trees and ends up
their lives unable to tackle their miserable situations. It’s really difficult
to curb a way to eradicate the corruption. Anna Hazare’s fight for corruption
caught media’s attention, but I doubt how far it aided in stopping the cases of
corruption. So I think it’s time for another struggle for the noble cause of
constructing a new dam which may save lots of masses. There are about 35 lakh
people whose life and property are at stake, if a calamity happens. The
governments have the right to protect the lives and property of the public,
which they are failing to fulfill with the delay in solving the issue.
The
central government should take special interest to resolve the Mullaperiyar
issue cordially. Only a new dam can resolve the issue. The Kerala and Tamil
Nadu governments should join hands to resolve the issue instead of conducting
protests or strikes. I don’t understand the reason why the central government
stood in silence, holding hands, expressing empathy with the people living near
the dam. It’s not an issue that’s happening in Iraq or Cuba. It’s to be paid
lots of attention because it’s happening in a part of the country which is
ruled by the Central government. The governing ministers and MPs are coming
down to the people to beg for the votes during the time of elections but are
not responding when such a tough situation concerning the lives of the many
lakhs of people has arisen.Oh ruling kings, it’s your precious votes that you lose if you are not acting in concern to the issue really soon.
